Description

Turmeric is a spice, closely associated to ginger, and possesses a root which is thick and pronged, while the inner flesh has a distinctive orange-yellow color compared to ginger’s yellowish-white. Turmeric has a pungent, earthy-sweet taste with a slightly peppery finish.

Turmeric is popular in Asian and African cuisine, where it is used in curries, rice dishes, and baked goods, as well as juices, cakes, yogurts, dairy products, and drinks.  We recommend consulting your doctor before using herbs and spices, particularly during pregnancy, nursing, or while taking medication.
