According to legend, Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) originated in the Anxi region of Fujian Province, China. A young woman named Lin Shiyin, known for her beauty and kindness, was tasked with creating a tea that would be worthy of the emperor. Inspired by a divine vision, she discovered a miraculous tea plant growing in a secluded grove. The tea from this plant was said to possess extraordinary healing properties and was named Tie Guan Yin in honor of the goddess who guided Lin Shiyin to its discovery.
