Eucalyptus trees, native to Australia, are now found globally and provide a lovely menthol aroma and taste to the tea. The leaves oil is believed to have a variety of medicinal uses and is an ingredient found in many over-the-counter cough suppressants and chest rubs. Australian aborigines used its leaves as a poultice providing first-aid for open wounds. Its flavor is similar to mint, with a cooling, menthol-like quality.  We recommend consulting your doctor before using herbs and spices, particularly during pregnancy, nursing, or while taking medication.
